At Don’t Forget My Pet, we see the deep bond between people and their pets every day. Sometimes life changes suddenly, and pets need temporary support to stay safe and loved — just like Lily Muffin did.
Lily Muffin is a glorious ginger queen with chonky charm, a magnificent tail flick, and a personality that can fill a room. Her mum absolutely adored her — spoiled her, cherished her, and gave her a life overflowing with love.
Recently, Lily Muffin’s mum became unwell, went into hospital, and tragically passed away within days from sepsis. She was only 55 and a type 1 diabetic, just like our Digga. Her loss was sudden, heartbreaking, and deeply felt.
During this difficult time for her family, Lily Muffin came into our care. Grieving and unsure, she spent her first days hiding under blankets, peeking out with cautious eyes and the occasional dramatic sigh. Pets grieve too — and Lily Muffin felt her loss profoundly.
With patience, comfort, and a carefully curated snack schedule, she’s slowly begun to blossom. She’s exploring, playing, and strutting around with growing confidence — even tackling her treat ball with the enthusiasm of a tiny orange wrecking ball.
She’ll stay with us for as long as she needs, and when she’s ready, we’ll help her find a loving new forever home — just as her mum would have wanted.
Her journey is a gentle reminder of the importance of having a plan in place for your pets. Life can change in an instant, but with thoughtful planning, our beloved companions can always remain safe, supported, and cared for.
Lily Muffin shows us that even in loss, love lives on — and with kindness and time, new beginnings are always possible.
