I'm more than just a pet...
Don't Forget My Pet is a registered charity committed to helping individuals in need keep their beloved pets. With a particular focus on supporting those facing financial difficulties and individuals dealing with illness, aging, disability, or mental health challenges.

Thereby preventing isolation and loneliness, and improving mental and physical well-being for all.
A REGISTERED CHARITY FOR PEOPLE AND THEIR PETS

Our impact since March 2024
Real meals. Real homes kept together.

It started with Digga and a lockdown
OUR STORY
When Alysha moved to Geelong between COVID lockdowns, knowing no one, it was Digga who got her through, and who helped her find her feet and her community.
That's where Don't Forget My Pet began: from knowing first-hand how much a pet can hold a person together, and how little support exists to help people keep them.
A gap that needed to be filled
WHY WE EXIST
Pets are often the one steady thing in a person's life. But when life gets hard, there's almost no support to keep them, and the cost falls on the people who can least afford it.
Ways we keep people and pets together
WHAT WE DO

Safety Net Foster Care
Temporary foster care when an owner faces a crisis such as hospital, mental health, family violence or ageing, coordinated with their health and community services so the person and their pet are both looked after.

In-Home Support
When it's best for a pet to stay put, our team helps with feeding, walking and care in the person's own home while they recover, working alongside their care team.

Pet Food Bank
Through trusted local community organisations, we supply pet food, meals and essentials to people doing it tough, so a tight budget never means going without their pet.
Real people. Real relief.
